Faut-Il voyager pour être heureux?
Voici leurs impressions :
Hi dear readers!
Today, we went to the EDF Foundation to see the exhitbition called « Faut-il voyager pour être heureux? » It was in Paris and it made us think….
We asked ourselves questions like : is travelling a source of stress ? We thought that trips were made to relax, it can be a subject of anxiety for many people. Indeed, to be in an airport can cause panic attacks for example. This exhibition showed us many short movies about that. Have you seen your parents stressed out when you go on holidays? It’s okay; but don’t let this feeling overwhelm you! 🙂
We learned that tourism has a big impact on our planet : planes make a lot of pollution and infrastructures change landscapes… So we asked ourselves if today we really travel around the world like robots taking pictures of everythinf without seeing that they don’t really visit places.
However, we invite you to discover the whole world while keeping in mind your environmental impact. This exhibition showed us all aspects that exist while traveling. We invite you to visit it, you will think a lot! 🙂

Les 2M en sortie
Le 7 octobre, les 2M sont allés au musée de la Libération pour voir une exposition sur le thème des femmes photographes de guerre.

This exhibition is located in Paris, 4 avenue du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy. Inside, you can see hundreds of documents, more than 80 photographs as well as a dozen original newspapers and magazines. It is in the Liberation museum. There are 8 women war photographers : Lee Miller, Gerda Taro, Catherine Leroy, Christine Spengler, Françoise Demulder, Susan Meiselas, Carolyn Cole and Anja Niedringhaus. If you go to this exhibition, you will see that the rooms are organized by theme! It’s a very interesting and pretty place.
Now, we will tell you about things we learned in this exhibition! We learned more about historical figures like Philippe de Hauteclocque or Jean Moulin, more about the architecture of the old pavilion octroi and more about photography techniques. Photographers want the audience to be moved by their pictures. Also, we saw some photographs like a picture by Lee Miller where you can see a dead nazi woman on a sofa, we felt shocked. This exhibition is perfect to understand the violence of the war.
We invite you to go to this superb exhibition!

Voyage des 2M aux plages du Débarquement
Du 18 au 20 mai, la classe des 2M s’est rendue en Normandie aux plages du Débarquement.

Last week, we went to Normandy for three days and we are going to tell you why you should visit this place. First, Normandy is located in the northwest of France. It is a region full of history. In fact, Normandy regroups the most important places of the Second World War.
On the first day, we stopped in Deauville, a coastal city which is quite famous in France. You absolutely must go there. Being a luxury vacation destination, you could see many huge houses. Then you could do the walk « les planches » which is a walk along the beach.
Then, the next day, we spent a morning full of history with the visit of two very important places of the Second World War. If you like history, you should definitely go there. The « Pointe du Hoc » overlooks the sea. It was the scene of one of the operations of the Allied landing in Normandy on June 6th 1944, you can see bunkers there. The second that we went to is the American cemetery which gathers the graves of 9387 fallen soldiers of the Second World War. This place pays tribute to these soldiers and their courage. It is a very touching and symbolic place which shows us how many victims the war made.
