Le 7 octobre, les 2M sont allés au musée de la Libération pour voir une exposition sur le thème des femmes photographes de guerre.
This exhibition is located in Paris, 4 avenue du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy. Inside, you can see hundreds of documents, more than 80 photographs as well as a dozen original newspapers and magazines. It is in the Liberation museum. There are 8 women war photographers : Lee Miller, Gerda Taro, Catherine Leroy, Christine Spengler, Françoise Demulder, Susan Meiselas, Carolyn Cole and Anja Niedringhaus. If you go to this exhibition, you will see that the rooms are organized by theme! It’s a very interesting and pretty place.
Now, we will tell you about things we learned in this exhibition! We learned more about historical figures like Philippe de Hauteclocque or Jean Moulin, more about the architecture of the old pavilion octroi and more about photography techniques. Photographers want the audience to be moved by their pictures. Also, we saw some photographs like a picture by Lee Miller where you can see a dead nazi woman on a sofa, we felt shocked. This exhibition is perfect to understand the violence of the war.
We invite you to go to this superb exhibition!
